CMA CGM will introduce new Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) for cargo from China to Southern and East Africa, effective June 21, 2026. For shipments to South Africa, a fee of $450 per TEU will apply for goods from North and Central China, while those from South China will incur a $400 charge. In Beira, Mozambique, the surcharges will be $550 per TEU from North and Central China and $350 from South China. For East Africa, freight from North and Central China to Mombasa and Dar es Salaam will face a $500 surcharge for 20-foot containers and $1,000 for 40-foot high
cube containers. Shipments from South China will be charged $400 and $800, respectively. These fees apply to all cargo types for Southern Africa and to both dry and reefer containers for East Africa.
