Carnival Cruise Line has begun construction of its first Ace Class vessel, Carnival Destiny, with a steel-cutting ceremony at Fincantieri's shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. The new ship, weighing approximately 230,000 gross tons, will be the largest ever built for Carnival and one of the largest passenger vessels globally. It is the first of three Ace Class ships set for delivery in 2029, 2031, and 2033. The design aims to enhance guests' connection with the sea, featuring a reimagined outdoor lanai, extensive glass installations, and the highest number of ocean-view balcony cabins in the fleet. Over 70% of the ship's dining
and entertainment venues will introduce new concepts. The original Carnival Destiny, launched in 1996, was notable for its innovative design and capacity, accommodating over 2,600 guests.
