Galveston’s Newest Cruise Terminal Earns LEED Silver Certification

The Port of Galveston's Cruise Terminal 16 has received a Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED program for its environmentally sustainable design and operations. This marks the second cruise terminal at the port to achieve LEED certification, following Cruise Terminal 10, which holds LEED Gold, Zero Energy, and Zero Carbon certifications. The port has also been recertified by Green Marine for environmental performance for the fifth consecutive year. Opened in 2025, Terminal 16 emphasizes energy efficiency and sustainability, reusing 85% of existing structural elements.
